Secrets to fix a formerly ‘blah’ Entry Foyer

Welcome, friends! Knowing you only get one chance to make a great first impression, shouldn’t your Entry area make a statement right off the bat? Not much room in your Entry? No worries! This really works for a pass through area! How about a tiny tour?

And a pair of tapers in the flanking brass candle holders, the international symbol of hospitality, provide a bit of symmetry as you enter through the vestibule. These elements really lend themselves to warmth and welcome…and these strategies are easy to implement!

Below: French doors open into a beautiful foyer area that allows the eye to travel straight through to a beautiful seating area arranged around a stone fireplace that goes all the way up the the apex of the vaulted ceiling. Your entryway is a true ‘entre’ into your world, every element counts.

Art placement services are one of my fortes and I not only customized the artwork to the space above the consoles at the entrance, but as a master picture framer, I also select all of the molding used on my projects and design each piece for it’s specific placement in my interior projects. Your art should tell a story, paint a vision of your life there and feel very much like a personal welcome to your space.

Foyer - Interior Design CharlestonLight, bright, clean and casual were attributes we wanted to invoke so, after a palette of whites, neutrals and greens were chosen for the whole downstairs, we were off to the races. ‘Art placement is one of my fortes and as the artist for all of the artwork that you see here, it was of special interest for me to make sure all of the artwork was exactly what my clients were looking for. Getting it all ‘install ready in customized picture framing was the icing on the cake’!

Michelle’s art placement services were just the ticket as she personally hung all of the pieces in the home.

Touches of the coast meets the rolling hills of Greensboro, NC can be seen throughout this lovely home created for a couple that transitions easily between this space and her main home in South Florida. A cozy and casual spot that is agile and the vibe is an overall feeling of elegant casual meets a whole lot of comfort. We brought in quite a few levels of dim-able low lighting for a calming entry…a beautiful environment in which to be greeted.

‘These clients also didn’t bring a stick of furniture with them so we started with a clean slate and an open mind about how the home could be used and what it could accommodate’, says Michelle. With thought out planning and a beautiful palette as a great jumping off point, Michelle of One Coast Design was able to create the perfect setting for gathering friends and family alike.
